A Constant Reminder

While coming up with the idea of this blog, Lily and I were reading the Seven Levels of Communication by Michael J. Maher. In this book, the main character goes to a workshop where everyone is wearing these black bracelets. The mantra one was supposed to think when looking at the bracelet on their wrist was to “Do it now.” This got me thinking….which could potentially be quite dangerous!

I want my kids to feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. I want them to feel included and know they have the support of the family around them. This lead to the idea….that WE should get bracelets for all the girls…I could use suggestions for the guys, but since the girls will be taking most of the spotlight…at least in the near future, I figured it would be ok to focus and get bracelets for the gals! I was thinking and thinking, and finally decided to get charm bracelets. This way we could look at getting charms as we completed things. So, now, this bracelet will not only symbolize that we are all a part of something bigger than ourselves, we will also get to show off our accomplishments too! Together we are stronger and can do so much more!

In the search for bracelets, we stumbled on a gentleman in Hong Kong, Roger Yim, who encouraged us to design our VERY OWN, signature bracelet. Once we decided that this idea was AWESOME, we drew inspiration from a picture that Lily drew for her father. (Look familiar??? Yep, our logo is created around it too….that is a post for another day!) Through this image and Roger, our bracelets went from Lily’s image to a 3d rendering of what our bracelet will look like. They are now in production and we are awaiting their arrival. I am so stinking excited….OH!!!! AND, we get to design our own charms too!!!! Woot Woot!
